New Year Resolutions

I'm not much for New Year Resolutions. To me new year resolutions are short term commitments. Anything that is meant to be long term should be done all year long and need not wait till the new year.

You should strive all year to live a healthy life style and be good to others. Those things should never be a new year resolution. But at the new year is a great way to take the things you already do a create higher goals for yourself.

Like me for instance. I try to get on the treadmill 2-3 days a week, if I'm not in too much pain. Here is a new goal make it 3-4 days a week this year. Maybe I'll loose an extra 20 pounds. Here is another one. I already cut a great deal of the sugars and refined food out of our diet. I don't buy cookies, chips, candy, cereal and all that other junk anymore except on a rare occasion like Halloween. Now here is the new goal. It's time to cut out the diet pepsis, go to whole wheat breads (tried the whole wheat pasta and couldn't quit chock that down), and eat more vegetables than I already do. I started my new business last October. Here is the new goal. It's now time to set up 2-4 parties per month.

To me a new year resolution should be an improvement on the good things you are already doing. A goal higher than the one before. But it should never be something you are going to try for two months and then quit until you make the same resolution next year. You'll never get a handle on your health, grow your business, and better your life that way. I'll you'll manage to do is take one step forward and two steps back that way. So this year take two steps forward and stay there! By the way I am preaching to myself, too. I've got to loose more weight this year.

Good luck with your life style changes this year.
